Endgame: Melodies of Eternity
![]() Hello everyone! Endgame is upon us. This post details the first half of the endgame event. It is a player-led event, where characters will be able to visit twisted versions of their homeworlds and hopefully save them. The event will officially start on the 12th. We will post an IC Log then, and players will be able to post the adventures occurring within their homeworlds. Please feel free to use this post to plot out and the likes! Premise Balahaka and the Cloud of Darkness have spread knowledge of the Soul Divider across the Heroes of Light's homeworlds. They have specifically given this knowledge to individuals who will use it in such ways that it inevitably leads to the world's destruction, either intentionally or unintentionally. And in so doing, a new Calamity was born, one that is controlled by the Cloud of Darkness. While the death of those worlds has technically already happened, crossing the Interdimensional Rift may allow the Heroes of Light to reach their homeworlds before they were destroyed. Even if the new Calamity's creation cannot be stopped, it can be severely weakened. The number of worlds saved will change the second half of endgame. It is up to player discretion whether their characters's homeworld are saved or lost. The Soul Divider The Soul Divider technology meddles with the very fabric of reality of an universe to produce seemingly boundless energy. To make it short: the thing in common between all worlds are the Melodies. They're the most elementary of particles, smaller than even atoms or quarks. The Soul Divider works by breaking down the Melodies of a target, and then absorbing the resulting Melodies to use as energy. Depending on the world, it can look and work radically differently. It can be used as a simple energy reactor. With virtually limitless energy and no visible damage on the environment, it may be used as a tool to usher in an utopia by someone with good intentions. It can be used as a weapon. It is capable of reducing cities, entire countries or even planets to ashes. The energy produced from it can be used as a weapon in turn, though it can also be used as a source of energy as mentioned above. Besides these, there are other ways it can be used. Please ask us if you have ideas and are unsure. The Villain Each world will have a villain that runs the local Soul Divider. That villain was approached by Balahaka at some point and handed the Soul Divider's blueprints. To function, the Soul Divider needs a catalyst: in this scenario, the villain is always the catalyst through which the Soul Divider functions. Their life is tied to that of the Soul Divider. If the Soul Divider is stopped or broken, they will automatically die as a result. Killing them will stop the Soul Divider from functioning, though it won't stop for a few weeks. The villain doesn't necessarily have to be evil. In the case of masterminds, well-intentioned extremists or anti-villains, it is possible for them to realize Balahaka and the Cloud of Darkness intend for them to destroy their own world. If they are very smart and calculating, they may have realized they were dealt a losing hand. If they don't comply, they'll be killed and Balahaka will just use someone dumber as his puppet to destroy the world. In such cases, it is possible that these villains simply decided to play their "role" while discreetly setting up the field for "heroes" to be able to stop them if they ever arrive. On the other hand, it is also possible the villain didn't realize a thing. They may just think they're doing good, or they may just want to conquer the world. Or worse, they did realize what's up, but they're an extreme nihilist so they're happy with it anyway. Heroes of Light As a result of your character having been on Vaikuntha, they are missing from their homeworld's timeline. What does it mean practically speaking? They're either dead or simply never existed in the first place, as far as their homeworld is concerned. Usually, your character's death or non-existence in this timeline is the catalyst for things having gone wrong and the timeline being twisted. Timeline By the time the Heroes of Light reach their homeworld, it will have been months, maybe even years, since the local Soul Divider was built. It is up to you how much time has passed. However, regardless of the time you choose, it will always be near to the terminal point. Basically, there will be only a few days or weeks left to stop the Soul Divider and the local villain. Because there is such little time left, simply killing the catalyst (the villain) will not be enough to stop the Soul Divider, the machine itself has to be broken. World Rules Each world follows its own rule. In some worlds, the laws of physics may be such that Jobs can't work. In others, there may be a divide between Muggles and Wizards. In another, you may use spherical crystals to cast magic. However, all the Heroes of Light have the capability to resonate with the Melodies. That means that whatever world they get cast into, they will likely be able to use the local powers. The Wizard world? You're a wizard. The Star Wars world? You can likely use the Force. The only exception is their homeworld, where they're abiding by the rules they've known their entire life. It is ultimately up to the person running the world how things go. Experience Players who run a world are awarded 1500 EXP for all of their characters. Running a second or third world doesn't award any EXP.Participating in three worlds's events (not run by you) will net 1500 EXP to all of your characters. Participation in a world's event awards 500 EXP, regardless of the bonuses mentioned above. How To Run Your World You have to run the world your character originates from, should you wish for this world to be featured in this. It may involve having to play NPCs, modding the setting and playing the villain. You do not have to do it alone, however. You can ask other players to help you play certain NPCs, the villain or help mod the setting. You are also allowed to invite players who never played in Melodies of Eternity. You should set up a mini-adventure for the Heroes of Light to go through. However you do it, is up to your preference. Please make your own post for your world, so you can set up threads as needed. Characters from the same canon If your characters come from the same canon but from different realities, then the AU is different from the original canon, period. These worlds have to be run separately. If your characters are both from the original canon, then the choice is yours: you can either play both of the worlds separately as very slightly different AUs, or you can play them together. Calamity Knights & Villains Should your character have the Calamity Knight Job, please send a message to the mod journal. Your character will be forced to fight against the Heroes of Light and may appear across many worlds. You will be given general instructions as to what you should do.If your character is a villain and wants to be the villain of their own homeworld, please send a message to the mod Journal. It may be possible for the villain to become a threat that'll be surpassed only by the game's final boss. Balahaka doesn't care about villains trying to double-cross the Cloud of Darkness, he just cares about seeing the Heroes of Light suffer, so there'll be very IC limitations on what they're allowed to do. Calamity Knights may snap out of it in the course of the event. They'll then be able to go save their own world. Alternatively, they may be part of their world's plot as other heroes try to save it. Base of Operation The base of operation for this will be the Enterprise, the massive airship belonging to MoL!Cid. Characters are allowed to go back to Vaikuntha or Crystallis if they have unfinished business there. ICly, this event will last for months. There will be an IC Log posted for this on the 12th. In it, characters will be able to play out what happens between world exploration, as well as question NPCs, even Ramaa as she is recovering in the airship's infirmary wing. Former Heroes of Light Former Heroes of Light are welcome to return for the endgame event! For Melodies of Eternity players, their characters will have to be saved from a nebula in the Dream Width, as per usual. Then they are allowed to run a plot for their own world if they so wish, or simply participate in the event. Natives can simply decide to join whenever they wish and use an airship to rejoin the Enterprise. For Melodies of Life players, they will have to be fetched from their homeworlds. Current Heroes of Light will get their location from Cid, and they'll then be able to use a smaller airship to go to their worlds and recruit them as they need backup. Melodies of Life's player won't be able to run their own world, as their worlds aren't endangered. |

Also, should the villain be someone with power and influence, since I assume building a Soul Divider would be a big project?

DOUBLE-DEATH OF THE AUTHOR — Paradox Space, Tyzias's Home
Characters' job classes will be able to be used due to Paradox Space operating on the principles of a videogame. However, characters will also be assigned highly-convoluted inventory systems and other complications that come with dropping into a world as batshit as Tyzias's. Due to how the rules of narrative relevance work, characters will also end up getting shunted between the ages of 13 and 23, and turn into a human or troll—if you ever wanted your cranky old muses to suddenly start dealing with teenage hormones again, this is the spot. If you'd rather not play out this scenario and would still like to play around in Paradox Space though, I am happy to accommodate you.
I'm looking for Megatron, Minimus, Miles, and Vimes to join in with Tyzias, but if anybody else is interested go ahead and let me know in this thread!

Re: DOUBLE-DEATH OF THE AUTHOR — Paradox Space, Tyzias's Home
IF OUR PLACES HAD REVERSED - The World of Gaia, Kuja's Home
Gaia, the world that Kuja nearly destroyed. The world is as bustling as it once was, with cities budding across the planet's surface. It's peaceful, with no hint of war save in the distant past, its oceans pristine, its landmasses covered in beautiful cerulean plantlife.
Its prehensile-tailed inhabitants have been thriving ever since the Rebirth, and the Tree that once gave them life how harvests power for them from the stars, improving their lives with each passing day.
What:
Expect an exploration of the consequences of a world without the Gaian and Terran Heroes of Light, a confrontation with an enemy who might have once been a friend, and, as always, excessive amounts of Kuja.
Who:
Due to constraints and the fact that I am running three of these, I will be accepting a maximum of two non-canon entrants. Eiko and Steiner have a free pass, anybody else who wishes to come along will be determined at discretion.

Also because I forgot to mention
FIRE EMBLEM FATES: ASHES-Fateslandia, Corrin's Home
Things are darkest then they've ever been. Time to get to work, Heroes of Light.
Characters will either be assigned (or pick) a corresponding Fire Emblem character class to best represent themselves after arriving in Fateslandia, or can choose to create a facsimile of their own powers if possible using Fire Emblem skills/abilities (with assistance, should it be required). Characters can appear as any race native to Fateslandia, with most defaulting to human, though Wolfskin and Kitsune are also viable choices for the more animal-like Heroes of Light. I tend to prefer narrative over crunch, so don't sweat the stats too much.
I'm looking for ideally five players total; Tyzias and Red have already signed up, so that leaves three slots still open. Ideally, Heroes of Light who are close to Corrin (you can check her Vaikunthan Support Chains) would be the best fit (and she's already signed on for Chrono Cross shenanigans with Serge and Kid elsewhere) but I'm open to other possibilities! The CR chain is a bit out of date, after all.

FOR ALL THE DREAMERS - The Darkness Beyond Time, Serge's World
There is quiet, here.
The song has faded, as have those who could have sung it. There were heroes, once, but now there are none. Or perhaps there never were. Or, perhaps, it is simpler to say that there never could have been. This was the inevitable result of the folly of interfering with time.
For now, there truly is Nothing. Nothing in the philosophical sense, an absolute void.
There is no world to save.
There is no time to save it in.
There is no space for time to act on.
There is no Schala.
There is no Lavos.
There is only the Devourer, feasting on timelines and stolen potential and the souls of innumerable worlds.
Forever.
What:
The fight of your lives against a foe likely to be almost as dangerous as the Calamity.
It's possible a song just won't be enough. You'd need an army to take down something like this.
Asterisks do not work, here. You may have access to Elements and other unique skills, however.
Who:
Due to constraints and the fact that I am running three of these, I will be accepting a maximum of two non-canon entrants. Kid a free pass, anybody else who wishes to come along will be determined at discretion.

THE TURTLE MOVES - The Disc, Vimes' World
Down in the deepest kingdoms of the sea, where there is no light, there lives a type of creature with no brain and no eyes and no mouth. It does nothing but live and put forth petals of perfect crimson where none are there to see. It is nothing but a tiny yes in the night.
And yet...
And yet...
It has enemies who bear it a vicious, unbending malice, who wish not only for its tiny life to be over but also that it had never existed.
Now, imagine what they think of humanity, and imagine that someone has given them a Soul Divider.
What:
Sam Vimes and two others need to find, and stop, an enemy who is quite beyond anything an old copper has quite come up against before.
For obvious reasons, Asterisks do not work properly on the Disc. But, there are peculiarities of it that may work to one's advantage. The Discworld runs on Narrativium, and not on Physics. Make of that what you will.
Who:
Due to constraints and the fact that I am running three of these, I will be accepting a maximum of two non-canon entrants. Anybody else who wishes to come along will be determined at discretion.

Re: THE TURTLE MOVES - The Disc, Vimes' World
And then, to Coda - Earth, Red's World
The Shepherd Republic, a beautiful and bustling civilization situated on an expanse of floating islands far above a roiling, storming sea of clouds. But it would really be a lot more beautiful were it not for that imposing sphere squatting ominously in the sky like a dragon's prison. And like a dragon's prison, Tartaros is poised to destroy the world, plunging the floating isles back to the earth to be scoured clean by the stormclouds. A fresh start to a planet that's failed its trials before.
But this time, without Red, there's nobody left to stop it. And this time- if those ominous green pulsations from its interior are any indication- there will be nothing left of the world should they fail.
What:
A brief, hurried preparation followed by a frantic aerial battle to crack the shell while the heroes plunge into the core of Tartaros to confront the arbiter of its grim task, and- most of all- to destroy the Soul Divider that now enhances its power.
Asterisks, unfortunately, will not be of much use in a place like this. Fortunately, Red will see to it that everyone gets a mecha to help them through the process, so, you know. Give and take. (More details will be given closer to go time.)
Who:
Five intrepid sorts (who may or may not end up taking on a canine or feline shape upon entry) will be rising to this task. Red will be among them, as will another ally. I'll be drawing lots among whoever else is interested.
+1 gremlin
Hey.
Sign me up up for this nonsense.

Jojo's Bizarre Adventure - Early Bad End + Stand Plotting!
However, this sets of a chain of events that results in getting the attention of Father Enrico Pucci, a priest with a decades-long plot to rewrite the universe. A decade before he had believed he would be prepared, he finds this technology with the ability to rewrite anything - no longer does he have to wait for a specific date to gain the most powerful Stand and create a new universe where the Joestar family never existed!
In short, evil priest is in the process of upgrading his stand - this will be in Japan, as that is where the Soul Divider tech was found, but it may travel to Florida.
The plot will not have a strict structure.
it ain't Jojo if it's not made up as it goes alongBased on the actions the characters take, the master plan will modify, and creativity is key to winning the fight. Everyone here will have a Stand - essentially a magic ghost only Stand users can see and give them a unique ability. It can be pretty abstract - here, being powerful is not enough.EXAMPLES
The Hand - Okuyasu's Stand. With a sweep of its right hand and a dubstep noise, it erases what it swipes and the empty space left behind is filled in by the ends of the thing it touched. For example, the edges of an erased sign will stick together. Okuyasu can teleport short distances by erasing the space between himself and another point.
White Snake - Pucci's base Stand. Creates illusions with a goo. Passive ability to touch people and pull out CDs from their heads - one with their memories, and a second with their powers. They can transfer those to other people (or to Pucci).
C-Moon - Pucci's current Stand. Picks a point and makes that the center of gravity. Fun with physics. If it touches you, it can make that point somewhere on your skin so you turn inside out.
Killer Queen - Kira's Stand. Anything it touches turns into a bomb.
There's more information here but feel free to use this to ask any more questions!

Fire Emblem: Futures Yet to Come -- Robin, Ylisse/Valm
Of course, the Soul Divider makes things quite a bit easier. Especially as Lucina, after finding that her own father was killed by Robin and that Robin was experiences flashes of mind control, had run this world's Robin through with a sword, causing a conflict with her father, Prince Chrom.
Objectives: The characters need to get the support of the Ylissan army (in disarray given its tactician has been killed by a high-ranking member, and it is known there is a look-alike working for the enemy) and make it to the top of the Dragon's Table before Grima-Robin and Validar complete the Awakening ritual.
Characters: Robin will take whoever she can get, but I'd like to limit to no more than 6 players.
Characters will have access to Fire Emblem : Awakening classes and their powers. I may be able to put together a tactical system (read: hack something Fire Emblem-y from simplified D&D) because I am THAT sort of nerd (depending on if I can do so quickly). Otherwise, handwaving will be our friend.
Non-human characters may be a Manakete or Taguel. (It is mentioned that while the only Taguel in Awakening are rabbit-like, other sorts of beasts existed in the past.)

LIGHTING THE DARKEST HOUR-Space, Megatron and Minimus' home
The Lost Light failed. The anti-Unicron forces failed. With the Functionists free to continue their crusade, and his original plan for stopping them in ruins, Adaptus sought a new way to try and defeat the Functionists...and in his desperation, accepted help from Balahaka and his Soul Divider tech. With Unicron having completed its primary purpose in destroying Cybertron and all its colony worlds, reducing the race to a mere handful of survivors, it was easy for Adaptus to infiltrate the planet-bot and wrest control of it away from the spirit of its long-dead Creator. Empowered by Calamity tech, this new "Adaptuscron" takes the fight to the Functionists and their reformatted alternate-universe Cybertron, reformatted into the image of Primus, Lord of Light and first of all Transformers. But defeating the Functionists is not enough; millennia ago, Adaptus ignited the God War when he believed Cybertron should spread its dominion across the stars, long before a simple miner from Tarn decided to take up that cause himself. With the Functionists swept aside and total-control of Unicron, and the ability to spawn an army of Infinites, Transformers which can assume any altmode whatsoever, Adaptus sees fit to revisit that idea, not knowing of the true devastation he will unleash by doing so. With the Autobots and Decepticons alike devastated by their losses, it seems there is no one who can stop him.
Unless Minimus Ambus, Megatron and their fellow Heroes of Light can find a way to light this darkest hour.
Up to five Heroes of Light may accompany Minimus and Megatron on this quest. Non-mechanical lifeforms will remain their true size and gain a sweet 80's scifi space suit to help Minimus, Megatron, and any remaining Cybertronian allies to stop Adaptus. This plot will revolve around infiltration and cooperation, whether its with other PCs or NPCs. Samu and Nara will run scenes and play any additional NPCs. More information setting will come with the IC log.

URBLUU, THE DEMON LORD OF DECEIT - Adrada, Ena's world
Everything is going as planned for Urbluu--the heroes are dead, and his influence, sowing seeds of panic and distrust among all peoples, spreads. Except this time, it's much better than he could have ever imagined. With the Soul Divider under his control, he is much more powerful, more dangerous than he has ever been. Those under his influence and willing to serve him are equipped with weapons of power beyond what Adradans are even capable of.
He has the elves of Avanwa Eryn following his lead, the human Free Cities thrown into chaos and conflict amongst once another, and the fear and panic of his influence is reaching the southern coasts of Lyiro and Amarante; the wastes are now teeming with minor demons under his control, and the people of the religious Ishkan-Khalir are losing faith as their prayers go unanswered. While Ena's homeland of Riviera remains untouched, being an island far off the southern coast, it's only a matter of time before it falls, too. It doesn't seem like there is much anyone can do...
The higher beings do have a plan, however. Though Urbluu is moving much faster than they originally thought, there is still time to fight back. They just need heroes...
OBJECTIVE
When the Heroes of Light arrive in Adrada, they will be greeted by the Angel of Hope and her servant. They will learn that there is one way to bring Urbluu down, which will include traversing into the most vile of planes and dealing with the most ancient of creatures in order to create the ultimate weapon, the only thing that has the power to obliterate the demon and Adrada's Soul Divider.
They will still have to get through the hordes of demons in order to reach Urbluu, which will mean gathering an army. Luckily, Ena's political standing means that she can easily handle this part (and also so that i, unkie, don't have to worry about playing my own event).
META
I'm hoping for 3-6 participants for this event. Due to how busy the mission might get, it might be necessary to split the party to accomplish the tasks in a timely manner. Ena will go off on her own so that I can concentrate on DMing, as it were.
For any character that signs up, I'll create a flavorful Pathfinder 11th level/1st-tier Mythic character sheet for them. And by flavorful I mean that there won't be any concrete numbers, just abilities, just so that it's easier to play out in text format. I can message you or you can message me privately so we can work out which classes work best for your character.

["Proof a Hero" muffled in the distance]
What:
Kenichi and Saori Nakagawa are not only the fourth generation of Inari, but lead this corps. They began to unravel the mystery of a sudden rise draconic beasts that were thought to be extinct but their numbers have begun to overwhelm the corps, the gods, and now have slowly threaten to spill into the Realm of the Living. Just when they discovered that the Soul Divider fell into the hands of the now mad goddess Tiamat, Kenichi was suddenly killed, forcing Saori and their allies to fall back.
Who:
Heroes who visit this world will be recruited to help both whittle down these beasts' numbers and eventually to fight Tiamat. Heroes' job skills will still be usable and receive boosts in all types of magic, overall stats and endgame level weapons crafted for them. If your character had powers in their homeworld, they will accessible but at a lower capacity. If you're down to becoming a monster hunter, this maybe the world to explore.

OVERTALE...? | Mt. Ebott, OU Undertale
Come to scenic Mt. Ebott, where fantastical monsters have lived peacefully on the surface for the past hundred years! When the barrier broke, the inhabitants of the underground didn't go very far. What once was a thick forest is now taken up by a cozy little town that stretches a short distance into the intricate cave systems the mountain is now known for. Every face you'll see is different from the next, but they're all friendly— so pay a visit today!
This is what players will find upon entering Frisk.exe's world. It isn't hard to piece together that the Soul Divider is responsible for the barrier's premature destruction, freeing the Monsters long before Frisk was ever born. But the question is, where is it? And who could have lived long enough to keep it running all this time?
CHARACTERS
In the world of Undertale, there are Humans and Monsters. Those who choose to enter the world can become either one of these things, in which case their body may be altered accordingly; Non-Human characters may become entirely Human, while Humans may become Monsters. Humans will look like... well, like humans, while Monsters can look like anything from anthropomorphic animals to sentient airplanes to literal talking rocks. If you're concerned about your non-human character having to change their appearance, don't be! Literally anything goes.
In either case, there will be distinct differences from how things work on Vaikuntha. Humans have little to no ability to cast magic, and will be forced to rely on purely physical abilities, but the raw DETERMINATION in their souls can make up for it with the ability to defy death through sheer willpower. Meanwhile, Monsters have the ability to use a variety of magical techniques, but at the cost of durability— their bodies are made almost entirely of magic, and it only takes a few well-placed attacks from a Human to turn them to dust.
META
I'd rather not have to handle too many characters at once, though I don't have an exact number. Just know that if a lot of people express interest, I may have to turn some of them down. All Undertale characters, OU or AU, get a free pass.
Additionally, due to personal preference and in keeping with Undertale's spirit, I don't plan on this getting particularly combat-heavy. If intense fights are a necessity for you, you're better off elsewhere.

Plotting for Sephiroth
I'm still trying to come up with ideas as of right now, but the general idea is that Sephiroth would end up 'recruited' by Balahaka to sow as much chaos on other worlds as possible towards the end of getting as integrated with the Calamity's rebrith as he can - he feels the only way to truly end this will be to merge with/take over the entity that's spawned, and so carry on with his larger destiny.

THE FIVE LIGHTS - OG!Nozomi's world, Earth
This Nozomi came to be soon after the creation of the Pretty Cure 5, copied and dragged into the computerized world of Mayfield. Surviving that world, she was brought into an alternative version of Equestria and helping save that world from a strange demon known as the Pale Pony. She would, then, come to Valkunthia and deal with everything here.
That is, until Balahaka stepped in.
In the true timeline, Nozomi would gather her friends - Rin, Urara, Komachi and Karen - to become Pretty Cure and fight to restore the Palmer Kingdom and defeat the evil corporation known as Nightmare. Though Nightmare would be defeated, the Palmer Kingdom would have to be rebuilt the slow way as the means to fix it fully, the Dream Collet, was used to grant Nightmare's chairwoman, Desperia, eternal youth and beauty.
In the new timeline, Balahaka convinced Desperia to abandon her slow method of finding Pinkies, fairies used to power the Dream Collet, and instead use the Soul Divider to grant that wish. The Dream Collet stolen by Balahaka and given to Desperia, the usage of the Soul Divider interfered with the means to create the digital Nozomi, preventing her existence. Even more, the heavy drain on the entire world forced the fledgling team to confront the company. Even with the arrival of the previous Pretty Cure before them - Cure Black, Cure White, Shiny Luminous, Cure Bloom, Cure Egret and Michiru and Kaoru Kiryuu - they would all fall.
Earth is on the verge of being destroyed. If this isn't stopped, then not only would this affect Valkunthia, it could also affect Crystallis - Tsubomi Hanasaki, one of the Heroes of Light, existed on this world and if she isn't allowed to live her life and become a Pretty Cure, then the fight to stop the original Calamity could change as well!
Objective: Nozomi and up to four other Heroes will arrive on this Earth with one straightforward mission: to destroy the Soul Divider and prevent the destruction of Earth.
To do this, the four other heroes will become Pretty Cure themselves! Don't worry if your character is a boy or not human - canon has confirmed that anyone can be a Cure! Gaining Cure forms means that their strength and agility are boosted to insane levels! Normally, you'd get a set attack, but because of the effects of the Soul Divider, you'll have to come up with attacks on the fly or, in a worst-case scenario, infuse Cure magic into your Jobs like Nozomi can.
META: As mentioned above, I'm setting a hard limit on four heroes for this, mostly for my own sanity - I'd love the idea of having more, but with work just draining my energy, I want as few as possible and four just helps make a team. :P

Relocating the First Order fleet to DATHOMIR, Maul begins turning the planet into the seat of his new dominion, where the Galaxy will be ruled through terror.
As Master LUKE SKYWALKER is missing and now beyond reach, and the Resistance shattered, there are no Heroes left in the galaxy to oppose the resurrected Maul.
Unless they can come from far, far away...

Re: EPISODE IX: THE RISE OF MAUL-A Galaxy Far, Far Away (Finn and Maul's world)
pretty sure miles is contractually obligated to show up
Wizard's Requiem -- (an) Earth, S'reee's homeworld.
Two years ago, the ceremony — the Song of the Twelve — was called late, as the Senior Advisory was killed, and one of the whales chosen was not strong enough to resist the Lone Power’s temptation, aided as it was by an outsider’s promise of power. While her broken oath stripped her of her own Mastery, other whale-wizards, and their colleagues on land, analyzed what this new machine was doing, and knew it had to be stopped.
As the situation stands, the sperm whale and fallen wizard Areinnye has built a temporary utopia for the oceans, where death has no sway, but she knows it is temporary and she has doomed them all. Earth’s ecological disasters have lead to wizards going public in order to ‘raft’ enough of Earth’s biosphere to other worlds to save what they can. Earth’s Planetary Wizard, Irina Vladin, is preparing to make the call to destroy the planet in a last-ditch effort to spare the rest of the universe, knowing it will kill her and whoever remains on Earth and still may not be enough.
Objective: Complete the Song of the Twelve, which requires ten participants in whale form, the Master Shark or his deputy, and the Lone Power (who will show up when ready). This includes someone willing to sing the part of the Silent Lord, who (usually) sacrifices themself at the height of the ritual — there is no way to succeed in the ritual’s sealing effect without at least one participant dying, though S’reee’s memories give her extra insight into this. Also persuade Irina to hold off doing anything until this chance is taken.
Characters: Less of a concern for character limits here, as it’s mostly talking.
S’reee can (try to) persuade Irina to petition the Powers that Be to grant wizardry to visitors, and she might well be desperate enough to do it. Characters will need to agree to the Wizard’s Oath. Given wizardry is ‘being able to give the universe instructions, and have it listen’, it covers a lot of room: characters could try to fake their Job Asterisks or powers from home. They also are given instructions — S’reee’s come via the Sea, but many humans carry books or (nowadays) electronic devices — an app on an iMog slate would be fitting. One thing that is true: the younger a character is (and younger is relative to one’s species’ lifespan), the more power they tend to have. The Powers that Be tend to make sure that new wizards have what knowledge they need to succeed: typically the first major working for a wizard is their Ordeal, a task set by the Powers that could not be done by existing wizards.
No transformation will be necessary; there are ways to have a non-whale be granted the whale form needed, and the universe is full of species. And at this point, non-wizard humans are willing to deal with other species, as they have been overwhelmed by the situation.
This will be primarily diplomacy, though a part of the ritual is resisting temptation; there is no reason the piece of the Lone Power won’t alter Its own lines to better tempt the participants — it was how It convinced Areinnye to break the ritual. (Whether the rest of the Lone Power is down with the destruction of the universe by someone from Outside will probably not be known except by an absence of further trouble.)

I’m interested in how the temptation will work.
LAND OF THE ILL-LUSTR(i)OUS (houseki no kuni manga spoilers, mild body horror)
In this world, you've become a gemstone. Your body takes on all the properties of your chosen gem, and bodily functions (eating, breathing, fluids in general...) are no longer necessary. Feel free to keep your character's normal physical appearance, with gemstone making up anything beyond that surface layer.
In this place, gems often fight against a frequently-descending enemy from the moon... the Lunarians, who want to turn you into jewelry.
LUNARIANS when they come, it's usually in droves— at first appearing as sunspots in the daytime sky. They use a variety of weapons and lately they've been trying out more tricks. The Lunarians don't speak and don't seem to have sentient intelligence beyond attacking/collecting pieces to take back to the moon with them.
GEMS
- As gems are comprised of their natural mineral state, and usually use powders to give themselves the appearance skin. Hair can still follow normal physics (blowing in the wind, braiding...) but it most definitely shines and shimmers under the light.
- All gems fight with a sword or other weapon because we don't want you losing a limb or cracking to pieces by using your fists (but if you do that's probably also fine...) Anyone significantly broken will have to be put back together again (and essentially pass out if decapitated), but losing an arm or a leg is no big deal— feel free to keep fighting... as long as you can get them back.
A general rule might be that the more pieces you lose, the weaker you become. Losing pieces permanently can result in some memory loss.
- Gems adhere to the mohs scale, but please keep in mind when picking a gemsona that any hardness below 5 is generally ill-suited for battle— unless you bring a unique skill like... for instance cinnabar is a mineral made of toxic mercury and would poison just about any/everything on contact.
WORLD
there isn't much left of the world since it's been hit by several meteors, the sea is very vast and the gems live on a single island— the main (and only) building being the school.
OTHER LIFEFORMS? there's a few bugs, butterflies, bees maybe... some things live in the sea, it's salt water so you'll need a special coating lest your gem be exposed if you decide to dive in. there's mostly only jellyfish down there, anyway. Take a walk on the ocean floor if you like, but it's generally not a great idea.
NOTES
The scenario will run through a major spoiler-y event far into the manga. It will be a battle scenario where I'll NPC a few of the in-universe characters.
Maybe 2-4 folks for this one, if anyone wants to suffer through it. By the end, Rutile is going to come out uh, very... different.

I'm not sure what gem he would be (he's tough and rigid but caring and loyal) and obviously he'd pick a hammer.

Frisk and Papyrus will find their world in a rather... unsettling state. The barrier is gone. Life is simple and idyllic. The royal family leads a life of adoration. The prince is the savior to them all! With his best friend Chara by his side. Always.
Except something is very, very...off.
The majority of monsters seem... faceless and eerie. Their forms indistinct. Incomplete. They exist, they seem happy, but who are they? What's their role in the story? The few who are more defined act overly simplified in their actions. A doting mother who loves to bake pies. A jolly father who loves nothing more than making people happy with flowers. Always smiling. Nothing to fear.
Sometimes the landscape glitches and distorts. Sometimes, there's a sliver of doubt that everything is truly okay.
Where are the humans? Gone, of course. Chara is the only human who matters. =)
Too bad Chara doesn't want to play this game anymore.
Characters
Arrivals can choose to be either human or monster, much like with Frisk.exe's premise. Any humans present, of course, run the risk of making the unnatural state of this reality all the more clear. Humans can technically use magic, though they may find it harder to use here, as magic-wielding humans are not commonplace. It'll take a lot more focus, and should any fights with monsters break out, they'll find it's not as effective as brute force.
Objective: As they arrive, they'll find the monsters constantly praising "ASRIEL DREEMURR, GOD OF HYPERDEATH" as their savior. There are statues built in his honor. The SOUL divider looms, piercing through Mt. Ebott. That is the destination.
But they have a whole stretch of town to get through first. A town on edge since the prince's dearest friend ran away.
Chara is searching for someone, anyone, who isn't caught up in the delusion. Thus far, their efforts are futile, and should participants try to make a beeline for the mountain straight away, they'll be met with resistance in the form of a select few monsters Asriel has chosen as roadblocks, escalating in power and intensity. In short, hasty sorts get a boss rush, and Asriel himself will be much harder to deal with if a violent path is taken over caution and compassion.
However, should the characters carefully work their way through the delusioned monsters Asriel's power will weaken with each soul "freed," and this twisted paradise will steadily unravel.
The aforementioned bosses can also be dealt with this way- by picking up on their insecurities and bringing them back to reality.
Participants: Since Doom and I are both handling this world, let's say up to five outsiders can participate.
