I'm looking for a good option for Jack to have a basic background with Vaikuntha tech, some kind of trade school or similar, rather than having gone to one of the Universities? I've got him coming from the Oktavian State, Hisan City, specifically. Is there a specific place he would have gone for that? Would he have had to go to a different nation?

Most of the cities listed on the locations page will have options for trade schools for the basics of Vaikuntha tech (magitek, imog slate, airship repair, etc), but the cities that specialize in that tech will have much more focused programs for that particular field of study.

Jack can do a more general study of tech from Hisan, but if he wants to have a specialization, he would want to study where that technology stems from, if that makes sense. Also, he could totally have had a summer job as a iMog Store employee.

Would it be possible to get more details on the rituals and former cultural importance of the Mad’ni Shrine? Tear would be from Myste Aura and starting out with a White Mage job, and the blurb does mention the people going there to purify themselves and strengthen their magic in times past.

The Mad’Ni Shrine is built on the ruins of a temple. Most natives of Vaikuntha do not know much about the temple, other than the water from the well having purportedly curative water. It is not magic, just exceptionally pure and healthy, similar to mineral springs on earth. People who go to drink or bath in the water often report feeling strengthened or rejuvenated, although it is not clear how much of that is due to the placebo effect.

Someone who lives nearby or who has researched the shrine might know a little more. The name of the spirit of the shrine has been lost to time, but some of the hymns used in the rituals of the temple have been preserved, passed down through the generations by the shrine workers. Those who work at the shrine assert that the unknown spirit is a benevolent one, not a spirit that needs to be feared or appeased.

One more curious thing about the temple is this- In the wilds surrounding the shrine, there is a high concentration of venomous flora and fauna, but no poison or impurity invades beyond the gates of the shrine.

So the native characters get a start on their Jobs once they arrive at the Center - but what about those who would have expressed their interest much, much earlier?

To put it in simple words - let's have a character from Nakagawa who's been growing up surrounded by Swordmasters and Cavaliers, which in turn inspired them to train hard in order to join their ranks and hone their skills. How would they be treated by the guild members? Would they be immediately sent away due to the lack of experience? Or maybe the guilds are a fairly recent invention and therefore this isn't applicable?

To clarify, I'm not looking for easy exp and I'm absolutely fine with starting out with a blank slate Job-wise, I'm just trying to flesh out my character's background, haha.
