Know Your Heart

Starting on February 9th and continuing to the 13th, characters may find that a certain emotion is stronger than normal for them. It could be love, fear, curiosity, anger, jealousy, hope, desire, loneliness, disappointment, pride, regret, courage, or any other emotion.

All characters participating in the event will get 100 EXP. There are no sign-ups to participate in the event.

The Event

The emotion the characters will feel is strong, so much so that it almost seems like it comes from an outside force possessing the Hero. A hero can only be affected by one emotion as depicted above, but the player can choose which emotion. Generally, it will be an emotion that would resonate with the character; however, being that people are complex and emotional states can change, who is to say what emotion is resonating most strongly with your character when the effect begins?

Players can also elect to have their character be immune to the effects so that they can focus on supporting their friends during this event, rather than participating themselves.

As the days go on, the effects will grow stronger and stronger, to the point where their friends may feel the need to intercede, even for emotions that they would normally write off as harmless. The effect of the emotional amplification will end when another character helps the affected character recognize that something is wrong and let go of the foreign emotion.

Participation

Players can thread out their interactions with each other in the event log. There will be a few prompts for NPCs and an NPC mognet announcement, but for the most part, this event will be run by players helping one another free themselves from possession by their emotion. Perhaps the experience will help the Heroes grow and bond with one another...

In regards to angered outbursts; around Curti how far would one be able to go before attracting the attention of security and/or getting locked up as a result?

Just before I roll with this; so it's acceptable to end up with Sephiroth detained by the end of the event, due to a violent 'slip', only to be ruled clear + released once the effect drops off?

Plotting Post - [OU] Sephiroth

I still need to brain out prompts tomorrow but the overwhelming emotion Sephiroth's going to be overcome by will be his Anger; which to be honest he's kept tight control over so far during his stay in Vaikuntha, but it's going to be fun letting this run unchecked for a few days.

Plot with me?

I'd like very much for some sort of intervention, particularly towards the 13th, before anyone innocent could potentially end up getting hurt by the climax of this event. I could easily see him being arrested (or something) before then, to be honest.

I'm fine with Minimus staging an intervention, since he would feel beholden to his duty even if he didn't have a position on this planet. He's a Templar who would be willing to draw Sephiroth's attention towards him.

Greetings General Grumpagus.

Depending on how their current thread goes, perhaps have some crankiness and snark?
