— Bahamut Will Destroy Vaikuntha in less than 3 Months —

Greetings everyone! This monthly information post will detail what will happen this month: player plots and a smaller mod event.

Please remember the Anniversary Event will start in March: player plots will be closed for the entirety of March and April. January and February are your last chances to get what you want done before Bahamut shows up to ruin a perfectly nice year. You can forward-date player plots to March and play them out in February, of course. Please post any questions you may have regarding all of this here.

The Mognet Express [100 EXP] || January 05th
After some discussion between Mogaruru and the Triumvirate, a day-long tour of Mognet Central has been organized to show how the facilities run...at least, a tour of the public facilitate that humans can fit into. Naturally, something - or rather someone - prefers to ruin the day and sow chaos. It's up to the heroes of light to save Bean Day!

A (skele)ton of Work [50 EXP] || January 07th
The end of the world is nearly upon us, but hope is not lost! A recent excursion to the Crystal Temple revealed the likely locations of the remaining Great Eidolons. Thus, Papyrus has decided to embark for the I.B. Magitek Tower in hopes of uncovering one such Eidolon! Just what sort of secrets lie within the tower? Whatever awaits, they had better stay out of those restricted zones.

Masque of Nusquam [25 EXP] || January 11th - 13th
Calling all actors, musicians, artists, engineers, and theatre enthusiasts! Sparks Golsaucia's very own Lady of Bliss is putting on a production of a never-before-seen play in three acts, THE MASQUE OF NUSQUAM! Witness a tale of dashing heroes, thrilling battle, and friendship betrayed! Playing the weekend of January the 11th to January the 13th, The Lady of Bliss is holding open auditions for all roles from December 3rd-9th. Also wanted are any Bards. Volunteers for general assistance also welcome!

Cram Week [50 EXP] || January 15th - 22nd
After spending what's probably an unhealthy amount of time studying in the Great McGard library, Tyzias learns from MogNet that the vast library is built on ancient, unexplored ruins. As desperate as anybody else to find ways to stop Bahamut, she gets permission from the staff to explore the ruins and invites everybody who's interested in not dying to come along.

Mognet will function correctly throughout January, besides issues listed below:

• January 23rd || Worldwide Interference
Starting on January 23rd, the mognet lines will be laggy and filled with interference due to the increasingly high amount of magical energy in the atmosphere. It will get worse with time. Mognet Central will confide it is likely a side-effect of Bahamut's summoning process getting closer to completion.

Festival of Sleep || Worldwide, January 03rd

With Starlight and the New Year Celebrations over, there is only one thing left to do: sleep to recover the energy lost during those most busy of times. January 03rd is a day where nearly no one on Vaikuntha works, recovering from all the celebrations. Some are tempted to try sleeping till December 23rd so they can perpetually live in a cycle of never-ending Starlight cheer, but alas few are those who do not wake up by the 04th.

Bean Day || Republic of Safer, January 06th

Once upon a time, a famine had fallen upon the Republic of Safer. The solution came with an otherworlder fond of beans and who helped the people of Safer grow them in vast enough quantities to survive the famine. Little is remembered about that otherworlder: the legends claim he was a blonde man with blue eyes and his name was "nobody." As celebrating "nobody" would be in poor taste, instead the Beans through which Safer Osu was saved are celebrated upon that day!

Rubber Ducky Day || Myste Aura, January 13th

Few things are as fascinating as rubber ducks. Or at the very least, it is what Myste Aurans think thanks to an otherworlder who introduced the concept of rubber ducks to them. Previously, the king found the time for bathing to be a very boring and sad time. But when the red-haired outworlder gifted him a rubber duck, the king became so fascinated with the thing, legends say he never left his bath again and had them mass produced so everyone in the kingdom had one! While many may think this legend is on the stupid side of the spectrum, it is an occasion for Myste Auran to sell their best rubber ducks to people from all around the world.

Starlight Mark II, The Return || Von Oktavia, January 25th

There is nothing sadder for people in Vaikuntha than December 26th, the day when Starlight is over and 364 days have to pass till the next Starlight. Some people in Von Oktavia have found a remedy for this sorrow: they call it "Starlight Mark II, The Return." While very few people follow it, do not be surprised at finding poor souls on Von Oktavia in denial that Starlight is over and desperately trying to make it happen again.
