 — Bahamut Will Destroy Vaikuntha in 4 Months — Greetings everyone! This monthly information post will detail what will happen this month: player plots and the Vaikunthan version of Christmas, the Starlight Celebration! The Curti Center is covered by snow and decorated for Starlight! Why, all cities are decorated for Starlight! Joy in the world! AC will be different this month: to celebrate the holidays, just checking in will be enough to get the 100 EXP. However, doing regular AC will provide 200 EXP instead. Newbies will be able to get up to 400 EXP with the newbie AC bonus. Furthermore, all characters will earn a free 100 EXP on December 25th. Please post any questions you may have regarding all of this here.  The Starlight Celebration || December 01st - 31st Once upon a time, there was the legend of Santa Claus. Every children in Vaikuntha knew of Santa Claus! A man said to have been amongst the legendary heroes who fought the Goddess of Death. But oh, he didn't fight her with weapons and spells, oh no. How else, you might ask, would one fight the embodiment of death and despair? By giving the world hope and joy, of course! Every year on winter morning, children everywhere would wake up to wondrous gifts brought about by the man. But he wasn't alone to accomplish such a task, perish the thought! Moogles helped him in doing so, delivering his gifts to the all citizens of the world. Why, some even say the Moogles working together to bring joy to all the children is how Mognet itself was created! Yet, beautiful as the legend was, as all things on Vaikuntha, it was endangered... Those were dark times, when the five nations did not exist in their current form and civilization could crumble at any given time. Some say a great war had shaken the world and people struggled not to give in to despair. Others say the world had just been created and people didn't know how to work together in harmony! But it all changed on the 24th of December. On a day that shall never be forgotten, Santa Claus came from the Dream Width. Historians insist he was rescued as are all people who emerge from the Dream Width, but the legend claim he came upon a sleigh drawn by nine chocobos. After all, how could he have been rescued if civilization was in such shambles? Whatever the truth is, children and adults everywhere were delighted! The coming of Santa Claus on that day was nothing short of a miracle. On the evening, all on Vaikuntha celebrated the man's coming, eating, drinking and laughing together before giving in to slumber. And when they came to, in the morning of December 25th, he was gone! Had they dreamt of his coming, had their despair allowed their minds to imagine a flicker of hope? As if to answer their question, they found gifts at the feet of trees, one for every children and adults. The gifts brought hope and joy to them all, giving them the strength to go forward. And thus, the five great nations of Vaikuntha rose from the ashes. As of this day, all children receive gifts on the morning of December 25th, as do the adults whose faith in Santa Claus is unwavering. Millennia after it all happened, some believe Santa Claus is still here and watching over Vaikuntha. Is any of this true...? None can tell... What is true beyond the shadow of a doubt is that all of Vaikuntha celebrates the Starlight Celebration to honor the blessed day when their forefathers were given the hope to move forward and build the future in which they today live. All of Vaikuntha is decorated with decorations that look strikingly similar to what one can see during Earthly Holidays, people are merry and happy, singing choirs and carols with reckless abandon! Have a Merry Starlight Celebration || December 05th On December 05th... You guessed it! A new batch of characters will be brought to the Curti Center from the Dream Width! Why this is happening is still unclear, but by now it's something everyone expects to see happening so this is no surprise. An Introduction Log will be posted so new characters can post their introductions! A Starlight Carol [100 EXP] || December 24th - 25th Starlight Celebration this, Starlight Celebration that! Why do people everywhere tell you to have a Merry Starlight Celebration anyway? What reason do you have to be merry? You may carry the title of Hero of Light, but that doesn't mean you have to enjoy such a silly holiday, especially with the threat of Bahamut. Why, you didn't even ask for that title! Bah Humbung! ... Yes, yes. Such Scrooges do exist amongst the Heroes of Light. Thus why on the Starlight Celebration Eve, all Heroes of Light will be visited by three spirits: the Ghost of Starlight Past, the Ghost of Starlight Present and the Ghost of Starlight Yet To Come. The ghosts will show the Heroes of Light visions of happiness in their past, visions of what how Starlight is being celebrated all around Vaikuntha and a vision of what fate awaits them if they do not change their ways. It will be an occasion for characters to share a happy fragment of their past, perhaps one they'd even forgotten or repressed, to everyone else all while receiving a dire warning as to what the future holds. More information will be posted in the OOC Log. OOC and IC Logs will be posted prior to the IC date.  The Mask of Nusquam [25 EXP] || December 03rd - 09th Calling all actors, musicians, artists, engineers, and theatre enthusiasts! Sparks Golsaucia's very own Lady of Bliss is putting on a production of a never-before-seen play in three acts, THE MASQUE OF NUSQUAM! Witness a tale of dashing heroes, thrilling battle, and friendship betrayed! Playing the weekend of January the 11th to January the 13th, The Lady of Bliss is holding open auditions for all roles from December 3rd-9th. Also wanted are any Bards. Volunteers for general assistance also welcome! The Dream Width Awakens [50 EXP] || December 09th - 15th April keeps creeping closer, but any plans to stop Bahamut are still too loose and unformed for Finn's liking. As much as he knows this is a terrible idea, the reward might be worth the cost, so he's willing to try anything. There's a pattern to new arrivals showing up, so Finn and a few other foolish yet hearty souls (that means you!) are going to be traveling into the Dream Width around the same time as the new kids come out. This brave expedition will be looking for a number of things: a way home, a way for everyone to escape, a way to ensure Bahamut can't travel the Dream Width, and knowledge about the unknown above all else. What will they find inside? Will they come out again? More importantly, what's on the other side? Under A Starry Night [50 EXP] || December 31st Starlight, star bright, the holidays are a wonderful time to spend with friends and family. But what can Azusa Miura, the otherworld idol, do for the Heroes? After thinking it over, she decides on an anonymous gift exchange under the stars of the new year. Surely, that will bring everyone closer together. What could go wrong? She sets out to find the perfect location for a Starlight New Year’s Party to celebrate with friends old and new alike...  Mognet will function correctly throughout December, besides issues listed below: • December || Worldwide Theme All iMog Slates will have Starlight-themed layout loaded onto them. • December 10th || New Linkshell The Empress of Sen Devadatta will introduce a new Linkshell on December 10th for the characters to use. With this Linkshell, it will be possible for characters to receive more frequent news on the effort to fight Bahamut, as well as to contact Imperial NPCs on the NPC Contact Post. • December 24th - 25th || Starlight Carols The iMog Slate will play Starlight carols at random times.  Starlight Advent || Worldwide, December 01st December 01st, the day when Advent begins! What is the advent, you ask? The days eading up to the Starlight Celebration! It is customary to buy a calendar filled with chocolates and open a box every day to eat one of the chocolates, all until the Starlight Celebration. And you're in luck, the Curti Center received free Advent Calendars sent by the Triumvirat from Von Oktavia. So feel free to pick one and enjoy a chocolate a day! ... Or eat all the chocolates on the first day, but Santa may not be happy with you.Old Starlight || Republic of Safer, December 06th There are many communities, especially those outside the largest cities, who believe that Santa Claus descended from the Dream Width on the 6th day of December. He spent the time between then and the 25th spreading cheer and lifting spirits. The 24th was simply the culmination of his hard work. Many families on Old Starlight host large gatherings where a local dressed as Santa Claus speaks with all of the children (and many adults), asking what good deeds they have done this year and hands them presents. Many families in Safer Osu still observe what they believe to the true Starlight, and for one day in the year, the serious people of the North are outwardly joyous.Blue & White Starlight || Lands of the Min'To Crown, December 08th The Lalafell and Bangaa in Min'To end on that day a week-long celebration that celebrates hope. Long ago, the two nations banded together to defend themselves from invasion and secured themselves in underground tunnels. While it would seem that their low supplies spelled absolute defeat, somehow their armies never ran out of food, and they were able to successfully repel their enemies. Some attribute the supplies they got to Santa Claus. Festivants prepare lots of food and host games during the week, and the University of Arito hosts free history seminars. Shakyamuni Starlight || Sen Devadatta Empire, December 10th The Sen Devatta Empire believes that on this day, a sage discovered the meaning of life and spent her life spreading wisdom. This sage bears the same name as the plains covering a good bit of the imperial territory, and little else is known about her. Some even claim the sage is a figure separate from the figure known as Shakyamuni. Gifts are given on that day, gifts that tend to be useful and meant to help the receiver in some ways.Ganapati Starlight || Myste Aura Kingdom, December 21st The Kingdom of Myste Aure have their Starlight begin on the Winter Solstice. In the following days until the 25th, families go on picnics, visit temples, and celebrate the love and harmony that exists and will exist in the world. Children and adults wear bright colors, and the Zora are said to be particularly lucky on these days.Mognet Tracks Santa || Worldwide , December 24th Starting mid-day December 24th, a special tab appears on the iMog Slate, "Mognet Tracks Santa." Tapping on it will reveal a map of Vaikuntha and a sprite of Santa Claus moving slowly across it, going from location to location and giving gifts to people everywhere. It is likely to only be a program made to amuse and keep children occupied while the adults work on the Starlight Celebration Eve's dinner... Right? Could that moving light in the sky you've seen, just as the tracker showed Santa Claus to be on your position, actually be...?The Starlight Celebration || Worldwide , December 25th Please refer to the Event tab!Black, Red & Green Starlight || Ancient Oktavia State, December 26th The peoples of Von Oktavia are varied, but on Black, Red, and Green Starlight, they celebrate how they all have the same homeland and share similar values. On the 26th, people begin the week-long celebrations that honor unity among the varying cultures, hard work, supporting each other, and being a kind person. Towns host cultural exhibitions, and it's expected to get to learn about someone different from you during this time.New Year's Eve || Worldwide, December 31st To celebrate the jump from the 1018 to 1019, like every year people in Vaikuntha celebrate together. The specificity for the new year celebration is that they're held upon airships that travel all across Vaikuntha. The airships travel just at the right speed so the time remains fixed at midnight as they cross each timezones, in time to keep celebrating the new year. Fireworks are launched from the airships where banquets and dancing festivals are held, lasting between six and ten hours. • Santa Job Modifiers In a haze of holiday spirit, Ganeshan has locked himself away in his research lab and emerges on December 1st with the strangest and most festive job update. All non-custom job asterisks will receive one special Santa Job Modifier all throughout the month of December. Follow the link to check out your temporary extra skill! • New Player Tagging Bonus A new exp bonus is being introduced to encourage our current players to get to know our new arrivals! Characters can receive a bonus 25 EXP points by tagging a new character in the Introduction thread. This bonus will be offered every app cycle. Let's all give our new arrivals a warm welcome!
