Greetings everyone! This monthly information post will detail what events, player plots and regional events will occur this months. There are two player plots this month as well as a major plot-related event! Reservations will open again at the end of the month, we will have an EMP and Test Drive Meme to go along with it. Please post any questions you may have regarding all of this here.

O'aka, Oh My O'aka || May 05th

On May 05th, characters will receive a mognet post from a NPC named "O'aka the 25th." Besides this NPC having the dumbest and most pretentious name ever, he will offer his services to the characters, with an alternative and cheaper shop for them to purchase airships, airship parts and other goods from.

Once Upon A Dream [100 exp] || May 15th - June 05th

On May 24th, something unexpected will happen: more lost people are found within the Dream Width! Well, not quite exactly found yet, someone's gotta go fetch them. But if it's anything like last time, Biggs and Wedge quite simply cannot handle it on their own... And that's where your characters come in: they cannot pilot airships on their own yet, but they can board airships piloted by NPCs and handle the retrieval of new arrivals. This is what the offer from the Curti Center will be. Seeing how short-staffed the center is and seeing how your characters have experience with the Dream Width, that's the best way to go about it. It's also a chance for them to learn more about the Dream Width.

Alas, things are never that easy... And with such little time to prepare for the rescue mission, the Dream Width's pull will cause characters at random to lose themselves. As a result, characters lost in the Dream Width will be lost in one of their memories, unaware of their status and convinced they are actually living reality. Characters still safe (whether they were rescued from a memory or have yet to get lost in a memory) will have to get into the memories of their friends and snap them out of it. But that means they may see things your character would rather have kept secret... Native OCs will have the possibility of living through either a memory of their life on Vaikuntha or a memory of their previous life. Should it be the later, this memory and the context surrounding it will be regained.

ICly, characters will be notified about the signals found in the Dream Width on May 24th, and will board the Airships on May 31st. However, due to the plot heavy nature of this event, the OOC Post will be posted on May 15th and the IC Log will be posted on May 20th, so you can start playing memories early and be ready for the new arrivals on June 05th. Signing-up for the event, your character may either have their own memory, leap into other characters's memories, or both!

Bizarre Bird Behavior! [50 EXP] || Select cities, May 2nd - May 8th

Many of the major cities of Vaikuntha are facing an infestation of a very unusual sort. Wild chocobos, usually skittish around humans and never found roaming through urban areas, have overtaken the streets in some cities and they're causing absolute chaos and destruction everywhere they roost. No matter how hard the heroes or citizens try, the untamed avians refuse to go beyond the bounds of the city. As it happens, the poor displaced birds are being hunted by ferocious beasts with a taste for chocobo and a terrible temper. It's up to the bold adventurers and warriors to repel the monsters and save the birds! Who knows, you might even make a new feathered friend in the process.

The Disappearance of Azusa Miura [10-25 exp] || May 11th

The otherworld idol, Azusa Miura, turns to her housemates with a gentle smile. “My, it’s a nice day for a walk, isn’t it? I think I’ll bring home a cake for us to eat together~.” With a soft laugh, she reaches for her bag and leaves with her promise in mind. Two days later, there’s still no word from her. Whatever could have happened? Suddenly, there’s a new post on everyone’s iMog slates... Will Azusa ever see home again?

Azusa will ask people help through mognet to help find her location based on her description of the place. Characters replying in any capacity will be awarded 10 exp, characters successfully finding the location where she is will be awarded 15 more exp. More will be posted about this later this month.

Mognet will function correctly throughout May, with only a few issues listed below:

• May 7th || Video / Hologram Issues
All video or holographic messages will display the color of characters's eyes as red. Native OCs will all have their eyes's color changed to blue. The management of Mognet central apologizes for this graphical glitch.

• May 14th || Linkshell Issues
The name of the linkshell Kali Shashidhwaja will glitch out by intermittence throughout the day and sometimes change to Heroes of Light. The management of Mognet Central apologizes in advance for this unusual issue.

• May 25th - May 31st || Mognet Strike (Worldwide)
A ~~new arrival of Kupo Nuts~~ fight for the rights of Moogles everywhere means the Mognet Offices all around the world will be on strike, leaving the network down for six days.

Blame Someone Else Day || Kiddilion, May 09th

Once upon a time, it is said a clumsy Lalafell Black Mage set on fire half of Kiddilion. Unable to cope with the guilt, she accused her best friend, a Moogle who had encouraged her to use a fire spell. The Moogle, refusing to pay for a crime that wasn't his, accused the Bangaa merchant who had sold the Lalafell her Black Mage rod. Finding this practice abject, the Bangaa merchant accused one of his Hypello client who hadn't bought the rod before the clumsy Lalafell did. And of course, the Hypello client accused the Lalafell for having brushed him to the side before he could buy the rod. In commemoration of this truly beautiful and absurd circle of blame, it is customary for people on Kiddilion to blame each other for absolutely everything on May 09th. Just don't take it too seriously.

Chocobo Festival || Yun'Ashia, May 15th

To celebrate the noblest and most pure animal of them all, the people hold a Chocobo festival, where the noble and proud beasts are admired and praised. It is also customary to practice the Chocobo Dance, people dancing and singing along all day long with their loyal chocobos.

Triple Triad World Championship || Sparks Golsaucia, May 20th - May 30th

A yearly event, the best Triple Triad players from all around the world meet up and duel each other for a small prize, 1 million gil. What they truly covet isn't the money, but and Triple Triad Master Cup! Some of the Triple Triad players are very dramatic people, who keep their card decks on their sleeve and brandish the cards they play dramatically, screaming its name along with the effects of the plus and same rules as they lay it on the playboard. As such, it is quite an event to see for those who like a good show!

Dark Knight Convention || Von Oktavia, May 22nd

It was customary to celebrate goth culture throughout Vaikuntha a century past. But the Dark Knights saw the ocasion and took this day for themselves. This is a convention where edginess and darkness are celebrated not only as ways of life, but as fashionable trends.

Biscuit Day || Hisan City, May 29th

What delicacy is there that is more delicious than a biscuit? None, they say. A few citizens have taken it upon themselves to celebrate biscuits on this day, as an answer to the growing disgust they feel toward Gourmand. Of course, Gourmands are banned from this event. And as such, it's just not the same.

• Moderator Applications
We have moderator applications opened from May 01st till May 15th. We need help to process character applications and keep the game's summary up to dates- The application post will be posted on May 01st with more details.

• Job Requests
Characters can now make requests to fill their additional job slot. The discarding and adding of different asterisks can be done here as well. After a character makes a change, there will be a two week period before they can make another job request.

As the report is vague, feel free to use the listed conditions within each regions as necessary for your roleplaying needs. Non-listed locations are affected by the weather of the closest location listed below.

Are characters allowed to live through memories where they were fused to another consciousness? I'm thinking of either having Connie relive the "having fun" portion of Alone Together as Stevonnie, where she's fused with Steven.

Yes, it is possible so long as it was still their memory.

Are characters restricted to only having one memory come up during this event, or can we use multiple memories?

Only one memory can be relived. Following the event, players will be able to use the memory mechanic on their own if they wish to relive more memories.

If a memory involves someone who is in game, will they see a "copy" of themselves or would they be "part" of the memory? Say for example if Euphemia had a memory that involved Lelouch, would Lelouch see himself in this memory or would he unknowingly be "part" of it but still conscious enough to try and snap the other out of it?

Lelouch would be an outsider and would see a copy of himself, as it would still be her memory and not his.

So say a character is experiencing a memory involving other people. Said character is made aware of others trying to snap out of it, but still thinks they're part of the memory. Are the other people native to the memory now also aware of the people outside of the memory, or do they continue on auto pilot? Or is that up to us?

We apologize for the late response. We didn’t realize we hadn’t posted it already. There will be a detailed OOC post to explain the memory mechanics before the event goes live, but in summary non-PC character behaviors will be dependent on the situation.

First thing this month is that Okuyasu is regaining Stray Cat and I'll put up a toplevel for people to react to the cat plant. He'll also be participating in the Chocobo Event with Uendo and Lean while looking at schools, but I'm torn between him taking Stray Cat with him or leaving it home and asking someone to look after it.

Okuyasu can search for other people and be lost in his own memory for Once Upon a Dream. Specifically, he'll be trapped in the memory of the final fight of Diamond is Unbreakable when he wakes up after his dying dream and runs off to save Josuke. It'll be tough convincing him to abandon his friend, especially since in that dream he said he wanted to decide for himself and stay in Morioh, but I'm open to anyone jumping in.

If anyone wants to do a group thread in that dream, let me know here and we can plan something out.

for the record, there's no way Baiken would go out to the dreamwidth unless someone she's gotten somewhat attached to talked her into it.

so that's an open invitation to have that happen

so Tidus is probably not the best choice here, but he'd probably mention the few more weird coincidences that have popped up and his desire to figure things out, for peace of mind.

Connie and Baiken seem to be establishing something of a rapport.

true, and she IS more likely to listen to young people talking her into something, for both Connie AND Tidus

the big thing is whether or not characters are ready to actually get into the meat of Baiken's memories so early on, given how traumatic they are.

You can always count me in for emotionally tormenting my favorite characters.

mostly i'm just debating if i really want to just do all the major angst up front of just have her witness someone else's memories. or a memory of hers that's not as bad, even if it's not as formative

I should clarify that I have written fanfiction that has Connie see her world get destroyed in a very horrific manner not once, but twice. And also started on something that was even meaner during last year's NaNoWriMo, but then ended up losing steam.

But it's ultimately up to you on whether or not you want to frontload the REALLY BAD STUFF.

like i said below, she's more likely to be convinced if it's one of the kids trying to talk her into it, since she's all "harumph better keep y'all from dying out there" BUT

also, like i said below, idk if any CR is quite deep enough to dive right into the more traumatic aspects of baiken's past

Reno will definitely be participating in all the things, but especially for the Memory Event --

What kind of feels? I'm always down for that.

Rather than exposing a terrible traumatic memory for all to see, Reno will be reliving a pleasant memory he won't want to leave. It will begin to degrade and get worse as people try to convince him it isn't real.

He will most likely be with his past lover from Amatomnes who was lost to the void between worlds, for those from MoL. Memory degradation will start bringing in unpleasant truths slowly and will end up explaining the scar on Reno's arm. I'll be putting up an opt-out for content because it will get a bit dark but otherwise will start off lovely.

Huh. That's kind of what I'm planning for Connie, actually. She'll be in what's quite possibly (ambiguously, the situation is complicated) the happiest moment of her life in her memories. Depending on how things progress, maybe Reno could help Connie and vice versa, and the other returns the favor?

I hadn't cemented the memory yet when I first posted about plotting, but I want to list content warnings in advance for opt-outs. Of course you can always change your mind up to the last minute either way, just let me know.

Amatomnes was an 18+ sex game, so there is a possibility of mention of adult/nsfw subjects.

There will be blood, body horror, and self-harm the further the memory degrades. PLEASE, if these things will upset you, do not join this thread. There will be plenty of opportunity for CR without it.

Alright, the first thing that Connie's going to be doing this month (and I mean very first, as in today) will be regaining Rose's Sword, subsequently squeeing, and immediately put up a MogNet post to gather a party to hunt monsters and get the gil she needs to reforge the sword into a gunblade.

Next, she'll be heading out with Lelouch and Euphemia to take down a nasty adult Chocobo Eater in the mountains of Myste Aura. In order to compile more information for future fights, her moogle will be recording the entire affair for later analysis, and she'll put up a "live" MogNet post to coordinate with everyone else to take down the monsters.

Considering her thread with Ira and Futaba on MogNet, Connie will be pestering any former Heroes of Light about the details regarding red and blue eyes after the May 14th glitch, then start putting together a plan to get into MogNet Central. Something--or someone--fishy is going on in there, and Connie intends to find out exactly what.

Finally, as the helpful smol that she is, Connie will immediately jump at the opportunity to rescue people in Once Upon a Dream. She'll be available to help other people out with getting out of their memories, but at some point Connie herself will disappear into her own nebula. The conundrum, however, is that she's nowhere to be found! Although the sight of the sun perpetually setting over the quaint beach town is quite beautiful, her rescuers must solve the "mystery" and track down Connie to where, exactly, she disappeared to. OOC, for the duration of this memory Connie will be fused with the memory version of Steven into Stevonnie for the very first time--at least in her recollection for the purposes of this memory. Once they find Connie, the primary issue of convincing her the dream is just a dream is redoubled by the giddiness of her first experience with fusion and her subconscious desire to not let Steven go. I'd prefer Papyrus, Mythra, Lelouch, and Futaba to be the ones rescuing Connie in this instance, but I'm open to others if they can make a decent case for how witnessing this memory could develop CR.

SO for BBB, Futaba is gonna be teaming up with Kanji and Naoto in Lavode I believe (And if you guys are okay still with her keeping the chocobo I think I might just have her do that)? If that does end up being the case she may end up at the Chocobo festival as well because she has no idea how to take care of it and may be lowkey panicking about it.

That being said she will be vindicated as heck During the May 14th linkshell issues and will be pushing even harder to find out who’s in charge of the Mognet and that Linkshell in particular. She did some lore research in Arito during the World Tour so hit me up if anybody wants to talk to her about that.

Finally she will be diving into the Dreamwidth to try to help people there, and consequently getting stuck in one of her memories. Contrary to what I initially said on plurk, I don’t think I’m gonna pick too meaty a memory, and I’ve kind of got it narrowed down to the below:

Early days with her adoptive father (includes some hints of her backstory and some ridiculousness)
The height of her hacking days (also backstory hints, but more importantly she’s basically going to be in a very early canon state of anxiety and paranoia, enough to make her intro look mild)
one of her early Confidant link episodes (Futaba awkwardly trying to reacclimate to society)
Futaba side of P5’s tutorial/prologue (hints about her life as a Phantom Thief but risk of huge P5 spoilers)
Trawling through Mementos with the party (also phantom thief hints with less spoilers, though the logistics might be difficult)

If any of those sound particularly interesting, let me know! Consider this an informal poll.
