Melodies of Eternity: The End!

Hello everyone! Seeing how the event has slowed down, and seeing how the end of the year with all of its holidays is nearing, we have decided to conclude the Endgame event with a summary, so as to not lose momentum. This means part 2 of Endgame will not be played out, instead it shall handwaved. Fear not though, for you have reached a happy ending. This post will detail how Endgame would have occurred, had it been played.

Furthermore, we are happy to announce the creation of the melodiesof dressing room! While it is not modded, it is a place where players from both Melodies games can freely play in the aftermath of the storyline’s conclusion. World-hopping is possible, and you are free to invite friends of yours to this dressing room. Please refer to the dressing room’s navigation if you need any information. As a general rule, you are free to post whatever you like so long as it falls under the general rules that applied to the Melodies game.

SUMMARY
Calamity Knight would have either snapped out of it and been freed, or they would have been killed as enemies. Their death, should they have been enemies, could have occurred at any point between part 1 of the event up to the final boss battle. Calamity Knights that went full-on villains and died may be revived on Crystallis or Vaikuntha for the conclusion, following player wishes. However, they will have lost all of their Jobs and experience as a result.

Following the end of Part 1, the Heroes of Light would have traveled to the New Calamity to defeat it, as in spite of saving their homeworlds, enough were lost that a weaker Calamity still exists. However, the Calamity is alike to a Lovecraftian Abomination. Anyone trying to gung-ho and run into it would have lost their mind (at best) or been erased out of existence (at worst).

Jessie would have revealed herself to be the reincarnation of an Avatar of the Calamity, whilst MoE!Cid (awakened as Garland) and Sarah would have returned. Together, they would have created a safe zone in the Calamity from where they’d have been able to interact with it. The place would have been something of a surreal experience. The characters would have interacted with various aspects of the Calamity under the form of Avatars. Interactions, together with the amount of worlds saved in Phase 1, would have determined the strength of the final boss.

Balahaka would have thrown a ridiculous amounts of monsters and Calamity spawns at the Heroes, too much for them to handle. However, various NPCs encountered before would have come to the rescue. Notably Ultros, Gilgamesh and Godbert, the Moogles of Light, etc. With their help, they’d have been able to move forward.

The final boss battle would have had many phases. First Phase would have been Balahaka, second Phase would have been the Cloud of Darkness, third phase would have been the Cloud of Darkness merged with the Calamity. A fourth phase of the Calamity itself would have then have to be fought, though it is a hopeless battle, solvable only with words. This fourth phase could be skipped altogether if the characters approached Ramaa on the Enterprise, causing her to come at the end of Phase 3 and preventing the transition to a fourth phase altogether.

With the Calamity fading away, characters would have had to make a choice: let their homeworlds persisting in their twisted timeline, or restore the original timeline. It is impossible to keep both timelines co-existing. Each character would have had to make their choice for their homeworld. With their choice made, the Calamity would have faded away— Restoring the homeworlds’s existence and saving Vaikuntha.

Ramaa would have ended up mortally wounded and lost in the Dream Width. Characters would have had the choice to let her be, or rescue her. In the former case, she would have died. In the second case, she would have spent the remainder of her life with Kalki’s reincarnation

With Kalki and Ramaa both at peace, this would have concluded the story of the Melodies, seeing how none are left with the power or knowledge to mess with the Melodies on such a catastrophic scale.

POST-GAME
With the Calamity crisis solved, characters will have a big party at the Curti Center. You can play it in the IC Log. Following that, characters are all given a choice: they can stay on Vaikuntha, on Crystallis, go back home or go to someone else’s homeworld.

However, the choice doesn’t have to be permanent. Thanks to Dream Width-able airships, characters can now move between worlds at will. Please note, it includes only worlds that were represented in Melodies of Life or Melodies of Eternity. Characters from MoL are also allowed to now change the choice they made back at the end of MoL, granted someone can fetch them with an airship. The Enterprise will make the round of worlds so it can happen.

Upon going back to their homeworlds, characters will keep all of their memories and experience. They’ll come back to the exact canon point they were at, should they have restored their world’s timeline. Should their world be compatible with Jobs, they’ll be able to use Jobs. However, time travel is impossible. So while they’ll return to the moment they left their homeworld, any further world-hopping will have them be physically absent from their homeworlds.

The one writing this would like to thank everyone on the mod team: without you, the game wouldn’t have been possible at all. We are very sorry the game came to an early conclusion, but we hope you enjoyed the game nonetheless, and we wish you the best of luck in all your future roleplay endeavors.

Hello everyone, it is time for the monthly Activity Check. As This is in preparation for the August Event, this month is only a check-in with Full Activity being optional.

Full Activity is one of the following:

• 10 comments (logs)
• 20 comments (mognet)
• 1 open post with at least 5 comments (logs or mognet)

You can provide a maximum of three threads for AC (a thread that divides into many sub-threads is okay). Should you mix and match, 1 Log Comment = 2 Mognet Comments. If you are on Hiatus, you are exempt of AC for the month. You can take a second chance, but you will have to provide double AC next month. Characters on Hiatus or taking a second chance do not get any exp from AC. Characters giving their AC late get diminished exp. EXP put into Calamity Knight is doubled.

Characters who were accepted this month get an EXP Bonus. If they check in, they'll get 200 EXP. Should you provide the necessary activity for your new character, they will earn 400 exp.

You have until June 30th to reply to the Activity Check. On August 01st, a Warned List will be posted for characters who didn't pass AC. It is with a heavy heart that I have to say I'm dropping Melodies. It has been a great ride through the first game and through what has happened in this one. But I've been struggling with tag drive for Reno for awhile, and it's spread to DWRP in general.

Reno will, of course, tell Corrin everything he knows about Sephiroth. If allowed, he'll leave Stiletto in trust to Sohma so that people can still work there (Red) if they want to. Of course, the hidden tunnels and rooms for the Assassins will remain a secret.

Snow White entrusts <s>his heart</s> his pets to Kuja, Noodle the snake and Rock Sass the hermit crab.

I might be back in the future, possibly with Snow again. I have another possible muse poking at me as well, so that's definitely a possibility. :) And I plan to continue helping out as an app mod, so you're not totally rid of me yet.

HeroMania has taken Vaikuntha by storm! And that means the tabloids and corporations know that capitalizing on the popularity of the saviors of Vaikuntha is practically a license to print gil. Unfortunately, that also means making the Heroes' life hell by constantly swarming them with lawyers, corporate representatives, potential fiances, and reporters. Fortunately, Octavaux Dairesault, host of the Golsaucian Gauntlet, has a solution: if the Heroes show up to this year's iteration of the international sensation, this time taking the form of a fighting tournament, he'll get the media off their back free of charge. Take up the challenge and GO BEYOND (or chill out and just sign autographs, that's fine too)!

Crystals have fallen out of the Dream Width in a beautiful meteor shower and scattered all over the world! Due to their origins and mysterious properties, the Curti Center is interested in gathering as many as they can for researching purposes. To incentivize the public in helping out, O'aka has donated a few silver coupons to those top few who collect the most crystals. There's also a rumor that the one person (or more if there's a tie) who collects the most, wins something marvelous and mysterious~

The hunt for these crystals have taken storm across Vaikuntha and they're suddenly worth a lot. It's all anyone talks about anymore! The locals have gone crazy with it! If you weren't interested to begin with, surely the madness that is this new fad has sunk its teeth in. Besides, who knows what the crystals can actually do? Are they gifts? Curses? Dust collectors? Only one way to find out.

Characters have one week to gather as many as they can! Below is information on how to collect the 15 different crystals scattered across the world. Details and specifics will be at the bottom.

Given that it seems the Heroes of Light descended upon Bahamut's corpse after he died like a swarm of locusts to take whatever body parts they could, it seemed like a good idea to set up a thread for people to list what they ended up with, what they want to have done with those pieces, and trade for any pieces they need but don't have. So, let's have at.

List what your character(s) got from Bahamut using a dice roller to roll 4 D100s and this chart (for those who don't have the Discord server and want to play) to get four of the following mats:

1-54 scale (54%)
55-69 bone (15%)
70-80 wing webbing (11%)
81-90 claw (10%)
91-98 horn (8%)
99-100 gem (2%)

if you have an idea for what you want to use your mats for, post that and if you need someone with specific skills to make it for you (or if you wish to handwave it, I assume that would be kosher as well) you can ask them or put out a general call for help.

If you need to trade, put up what you're looking for and what you're willing to offer for it as well and see if someone bites. All right, let's have at.
