Announcement: Calamity Knight + Memory Regains
Hello everyone! Quite a lot has happened of late, and we have announcements to make regarding the Warlock Job and Memory Regains.
Calamity Knight
In a player plot, Warlock's true name was revealed to be Calamity Knight and a number of characters were given the Job. In the future, it is likely knowledge of this Job will become more widespread. Simply having the Job isn't an issue. However, pouring EXP into it and making use of its skills will have dire consequences.
Characters trying to use the Hell Judgment skill one time will feel very uncomfortable and will be able to tell beyond the shadow of a doubt that the Job is, by its very nature, a dangerous Job. There won't be any penalty for trying the skill one time. The Job can be removed by Ganeshan, for those who so want.
Using the skill more than one time and/or pouring EXP into the Job, however, means your character will no longer be able to remove it and will be bound by a covenant with the Malevolent Entity residing within the Dream Width. Your character may be forced to do things against their will in later events. They may harm other characters without you having any control over it. They may face death and be asked to work toward a bad ending against the other characters. Should your character be a villain, then odds are that there won't be too many problems. But please be very careful when considering whether or not to use that Job. The more your characters use this Job and pour EXP into it, the worse are the risks.
Memory Regains
As Native OCs are regaining more and more memories, we have decided to give more details as to how the memory regains work as more and more are earned:
2 Memories: The Native OC gains the ability to use a Melody
3 Memories: The Native OC becomes clearly aware of having been someone else in a past life. Their dreams may be made up of memories. They can make a Custom Job.
4 Memories: The Native OC's awareness of their past life increases dramatically. They may regain random bits of memories at any point in time and the personality from their past life may surface. The regained memories feel less and less like just "vision" and more and more like things that actually happened in their lives.
5+ Memories: Starting with the 5th memory, Native OCs may fully regain their memories (whenever, at player discretion). It may be hard to manage the fact that their two selves essentially merged, though the Native OC personality and memories will still be predominant. If your Native OC was not in Melodies of Life, please contact the moderators for a summary of how they died as a Hero of Light.
